Nova Gorica is celebrating the 70th anniversary of its foundation. It was bulit after WW2 on the Slovenian side of the border. It is a modern, young town with a pleasant design and lively economic, cultural, and tourist vibe. On the Italian side of the border there is its counterpart Gorizia; an old lady with a typical Italian-style square and narrow streets. This is a unique example of the union of two towns. As a testimony of this union there is an interesting mosaic on Europe Square. It has become a world-famous attraction.
